MUHNAC is one of the most important complexes of heritage and scientific culture in our country. Comprising three centres in Lisbon - in Príncipe Real, Ajuda and Belém - the Museum inherits and interprets the history of institutions, people and collections that date back to the beginning of the 17th century.
It has collections of natural history, history of science, archaeology, art, photography and ethnography, as well as libraries and historical archives, totalling over 3 million items!
This garden is part of MUHNAC and it's particularly rich in tropical species originating from New Zealand, Australia, China, Japan and South America, which attests to the amenity of Lisbon's climate and the peculiarities of the microclimates created in this Garden. Located in Príncipe Real, it is well worth a visit!
Located next to the Jerónimos Monastery, it has a plant heritage specialised in tropical flora, and develops scientific, educational, cultural and leisure activities, within the scope of preserving and valuing the heritage and spreading scientific culture about tropical science and the history and memory of science and technology in the Portuguese discoveries, expansion and colonisation.
The JBT mobile application will offer you a totally different experience of interaction with the different spaces and periods of the Garden
Covering about 100 hectares, this Tapada has several green spaces, including a botanical reserve internationally recognised for its unique forest of wild olive trees. In addition to the beauty of the vegetation and the historical and architectural heritage that characterise Tapada da Ajuda, you can climb to the viewpoint located on the northern part for a privileged view over Lisbon and its surroundings
It was the first Botanical Garden in Portugal and has been in existence for over 240 years. This historic garden, with an area of 3.5 hectares, has exceptional features for a better understanding of the world of plants. In addition to its vast botanical collection, seed conservation bank and aromatic plant essential oil distiller, among other resources, the JBA also offers visits and thematic workshops on biodiversity conservation.
